COVID-Z

HELLOOOO!! My name is Arlo, and today, Our class is going to preview (you probably already know this, but i'll say it anyway. It means to view something early. pre-view. boom) our school film, COVID-Z. I WAS part of it as a animator, but I failed and am now eternally sad. I was too late, and I did something ACTUALLY STUPID.

Okay, so Basically I was playing some games ('cuz, y'know, why not?) because I had a bit of a burnout (this means I get really... un-encouraged? no, more like de-motivated. I play games to help my mind be non-empty ('cuz that's what happens! My brain just flops) and they fill me with determination (i'm sorry Undertale, I just had to). Anyway, I was playing Hello Neighbor 2 (Download at www.helloneighbor2.com) and I started wondering, "Why is my game so choppy!?" and (knowing me) I had to try and fix it. So I searched 'Why are my games so laggy and slow' and I found a page saying 'reinstall the graphics driver' So I deleted my graphics driver, and then I couldn't OPEN my games. Or Blender (download at www.blender.org). You see, I had to animate using Blender, and then I couldn't. And that basically killed it. But the movie looks great anyway. And what I was making wasn't exactly canon.

But hey, it probably would of looked something like this:

I would probably and accidentally make it too scary for the juniors. (this isn't mine. it belongs to someone else. It's just an example)

Anyway, that's it! Remember to have an INCREDIBLE day! See you next time I make a post. BYYYEE!!!

Waitangi Day

Wednesday 28th October: Today (or this day) we ('we' being Totara Class) drove to the Waitangi Museum. I  was in the car with Georgia, Ella, and Georgia's mum, Gina. It was SUPER fun. We were in the car for an hour and a half. We listened to loud music the whole way. Awesome if I do say so myself.

When we got there, we decided to... eat... just eat. Eat morning tea. Then we went in.

After a bit of waiting, putting our bags in cages, and talking (a LOT of talking) we finally marched in and it was AWESOME!! Like, as awesome as a fox in New Zealand. There were lights here and there, pictures of ancient Moari. It was awesome, but when I said more awesome than a fox in NZ... I didn't mean it. nothing is that cool.

Explanation about our school bike track

 Hi, my name is Arlo.

And this is a document.

I am in this document.

Right now.

Telling you about bike tracks.

Ok, I’m done. HELLO!! My name is Arlo and today we have… bike tracks? Yip. Bike tracks. But not any old bike track, (never thought i’d say ‘bike track’ so much in one day!!)

The Oruaiti School Bike Track™!!! It’s not Actually trademarked (yet…)

If you (for some strange reason) don’t know what a bike track is, I guess I have to tell you what it is. A bike track is a track that you ride bikes on. (which you should know already) Anyway, this is too long. So let’s just start writing (or reading, to you)

Oruaiti School has fourteen acres of land (and that’s a LOT), so we want to use some of it. What on you might ask? Well, you should know cuz of how many times i’ve said it. You got it? Do you now? Still thinking? GOT IT!! Awesome! Now don’t forget! Keep that in mind! Hold on. I need to remember what I was saying… *thinking noise* Right!! Ok.

Oruaiti School is going to be building a Dope bike track. (I’m gonna mark down all the times I say ‘bike track’ from now on), or as my friend lockie would say, A gangster bike track (or maybe he’d say gangsta. Dunno, don’t really need to know).

The track (ha! don’ t have to mark!)  is (presumebly) going to be made of gravel or dirt or stone. We’re not entirely sure. All I can say is that it’ll prob’ly loom awesome. Not just look it, be it. It’s a fun way to get off devices and have fun. And lot’s of it!! Of course, we only started thinking about this 2-3 months ago, so it’s not built yet. Our plan is is that it will start on the top right by Colins’ house, then go down the hill. I don’t know what happens from there on.

Oh. Your still here? I kinda thought you’d get bored. Well, I’m happy your still here. SO let’s get straight into it for once, shall we?

We’re going to bring our own bikes to ride on. We’ll also have a shed with no windows (so no one can break in) to store all our bikes in. I’m overly excited, but also worried about the fact that my smaller bike is old and rusty, and my newer bike is too big for me to get off without falling over. So that kinda needs to be sorted. I still love the idea of a bike track. IT’S GONNA BE SO AWESOME!!!! And now I have to move on to my conclusion.

Bringing this all into account, a bike track will improve the school intensely. I would love it, other kids would love it. We’re not sure about younger compatibility. But, hey, we’ll think of something. Anyway, that’s it. Make sure to have an INCREDIBLE day. I will see you next time… BYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dice Champs

how to play dice champs:

1. get a dice (or two)

2. find a friend
3. pick how you want to play (add, plus, add 0's)

4. whoever says the number first gets a
point
what I mean is: you quickly add up the numbers or add a 0 or 1 or anything you chose and then quickly say the number (depending on what number you chose)

still doesn't make sense? Well, you can choose adding, subtracting or doubling.

Here I am playing with Connor.

Fern Flat Pottery

On Thursday, Totara class visited the pottery place called Fern Flat in Peria. There we made pottery and watched Rod and Margy (owners) make some. First we made a pig, then whatever we wanted; I made a Fox (of course) and Rod said that he'd fire it in the kiln for me! I'll have to go pick it up from his  workshop sometime. I can't wait! Dunno why, but I was kinda sad when he said we had to destroy everything. Not because I spent quite a while on it, but because I've grown quite attached to Foxes. I feel sad if anything bad happens to one. I just love them! Y'know when you get a pet and you just love it so much you don't want it to ever die or leave you? That's how I feel! BUT I'M IN NEW ZEALAND SO I CAN'T HAVE ONE!!! I should probably stop talking about Foxes now. Anyway... WOW! most of this is just about a Fox. Sorry. Rod made a bowl with a pottery wheel and Margy made a Fantail from a mould. Honestly, this was prolly one of the most satisfying  thing I've ever watched. A pottery wheel, spinning in circles. Round and round and round. Then he dropped it.
The chairs that were outside fern flat

The fountain (I think Xav really liked it!)

This is us moulding (so fun! We are either moulding the pigs or our own choice)

Another picture of us moulding

Well, that's it. Hope you all enjoyed this. See you next time... BYE!!

Creations on blender

4/5/20 For my passion project, i’ve created two scenes and a extrusion (sort of a 3D effect)

(these are the building blocks for an animation)

Usually, an animation could take days, weeks, months, or even years. And because I’m mostly teaching myself, it will take a LOT longer. So i’ve created two scenes and an extrusion tutorial for you.

My project will show you in stages how I have created my scenes and extruded using the newest version of Blender (animation software that I use) https://www.blender.org

First, you will need a rig (character) It will have to have all these controls you see on this image. You can import or make a rig. Import by hitting the File button in the corner and search for “Open” hit it and find the file.

To extrude, hit the select box button

And select the arm mesh

Then hit tab

It should then look like this

Select the square you want to extrude and hit “E” and extrude to your needs

If you want it to be square, select the edges

After you’ve done this, find this little menu by going into the top right corner and go down slowly until you get a drag icon

Drag out and you should see this menu.

Then select Mean Crease and set it to 1

When your done doing this to all the edges, it should look like this

This is pretty basic

For the head, it can be different. depending on how the rig it set up, it can sometimes go round.

First, select the head mesh

Simply tap it and it should highlight blue. Then hit tab and the heads outer layer should look like the arm did.

Then delete all the empty squares. To do this, select what you want to delete and hit “X” and a little menu should come. Hit the button that says “faces” then the squares should disappear. Then, select

The kiwi

Hi, my name is Arlo from Oruaiti School. but hey, you probably already know that since you looking at this blog. Anyway, the other day, my teacher (Wheae Jorja) accidentally hit a kiwi on the road thinking it was a possum. You see, i'm not trying to make her look evil, but she didn't mean to! There was a possum dead on the road and she thought it was a kiwi. I'm assuming she hit it with the bumper. Still, she did NOT mean to! I'll tell you the proper story: she was driving home (I think) and she saw a dead possum, and next to it was another possum. She thought 'oh yeah, another possum' But then, it lifted it's long kiwi beak. But it was too late. it had already been hit. She came to school sad and told us the whole accident... R.I.P Kiwi. Well, uhhh, that's it. Bye!

Just... gross... and sorta fun... at the same time..?

Today we did the grossest thing! We spent about FIFTEEN minutes picking up trash. It looks so ugly, too! like the owner of trash built a house made out of trash... on trash, and had a trash family with everything made of trash. It's a huge pile of  rubbish in the middle of Kauri Class. actually disgusting! I GAGGED! nothing makes me gag! (OK, I'm lying, I gagged before I wrote this) anyway, I keep losing my team! you know what I thought? "CRAP!" wait... just realized the floor looks like crap! NO JOKE! seriously! It looks HORRID! REEEEEEEEEEE!!! (try and imagine what that looks like)

So, we basically went around the school with eight totally oversized bags and picked up rubbish with Puriri Class. That was sorta fun. We found a lot o' rubbish, too! Although... it... messed up the whole Class.  CRAP! CHOOKITY-POK CRAPPY! CHOOKITYYYYYYYYYY! We (as I said) used eight bags

this is rlly late, sorry, this what meant to be posted back in 2019
